The Framework is the result of significant consultations and
support from government agencies, people with a disability,
unions, representative community organisations and disability
employment and support agencies.
What is its aim?
The aim of the Framework is that people
with a disability are able to access secure and sustainable
employment opportunities with the ACT Public Service, commensurate
with their skills, capabilities, interests and potential.
This will be achieved by establishing and promoting inclusive
workplace policies and practices.
What does it provide?
The Framework provides the vision and principles
and sets the strategic direction for the next four years through
seven key objectives underpinned by 27 practical strategies
with associated responsibilities and timelines.
Progress against the objectives will be
monitored by the Human
Resource Council, chaired by the ACT
Commissioner for Public Administration. A Standing Committee,
chaired by the Executive Director of the Industrial Relations
& Public Sector Management Group, will be responsible
for driving the implementation of the Framework and report
to the Human Resource
Council.
